Browser Requirements:

To establish a secure connection between your computer and our network, you must use an internet browser that is compatible with OBA's security requirements, including mandatory 128-bit encryption. Please check our list of approved browsers below before you apply for or sign-on to Home-Banking, and follow our links to upgrade your browser, if necessary.

What are the system requirements for using the Open Community Network?

A personal computer with Windows XP, Vista, or 2000 are the preferred Operating System however, Windows 98, ME, NT 4.0 all still should work, but are more vulnerable; an Apple Macintosh® computer with OS 7.01 or a higher version; or WebTV®.

You will also need a connection to the Internet (an Internet Service Provider accessed by your computer via broadband or modem).

A recommended browser installed on your computer:

Can other people access my account?

No. Only you can log-on to your accounts through the Open Community Network. All of your account information is kept on our computers and the information transferred to your computer is done so over a secure connection.

If I am having trouble logging on, what might be the problem?

Your password is case sensitive. Make sure "Caps Lock" is off and try again. If you still are having a problem or have forgotten your Password, contact us toll-free at 888-462-2375 or local at 301-916-6400.

Why do I need an Internet Service Provider to use the Open Community Network?

The Internet Service Provider (ISP) ensures that your computer conforms to internet protocol and this protocol is essential for secure connections between your computer and our service.

Is the Internet safe to transmit my banking information?

Yes. We use 128-bit encryption: Secure Socket Layer 3.0 (SSL) for all communications. This is currently the highest level of security available for Internet Transactions.

Why can't I transfer money in or out of one of my accounts?

Some bank accounts do not support transfers. Contact a bank representative if you want more information about this topic or would like to set up a new account.

What do I need to know about funds transfer?

Funds transfer happen either on the date of entry or on the following business day, depending on when you transmit the transfer instructions.

How much past account information is available?

Generally, up to 90 days of past account information is made available. However, there may be instances where longer time periods of information are available.

What do I need to know before scheduling a bill payment?

The payee's address, phone number and your billing account number.

When is my checking account debited for a bill payment?

Your account will be debited when the payment is sent.

Is there a minimum and maximum payment amount?

No, but there should always be enough funds in your account to make the scheduled payments. You are responsible for any non-sufficient funds and overdraft charges we may impose, as stated in the Bill Payer Agreement.

Who can I pay using On-line Bill Payer?

Any person or institution in the United States, except for tax payments and court-ordered payments.

How will I know what payments have been made?

Payment records are maintained on the On-line system and will appear on your monthly bank statement. If confirmation of payment receipt is required, please contact the payee for detailed information.

What about my current paper checks? Can I still use them and the Bill payer service with the same checking account?

Yes. Unique numbers are used to distinguish checks sent through On-line bill payer from the checks you write yourself.
